Our shop profile gives a glimpse into why we chose the name Crocus Hill Cards for our handmade card business:
In the heart of St. Paul, Minnesota, lies one of the city's best kept secrets: Crocus Hill. Winding, cobbled roads, majestic oak trees and scenic bluffs over the Mississippi River. We - Kelli and John - called this quaint neighborhood home for many years. Here, Kelli began designing and creating cards several years ago. Now, from our new home in Atlanta, we are introducing a piece of Crocus Hill to the world through Crocus Hill Cards.
We debated for several days over what to name our shop. We originally liked involving the word "press" and we considered something food-related along with it, as we love cooking together (such as The Basil Press). However, the few versions we really liked where already taken. Crocus Hill Cards came to us over dinner after our latest press idea was discarded and we knew it was perfect. As we started to look at our website, shop name and other promotional items, it was clear the name was meant to be, as it was not taken anywhere.
